Bill’s experience includes writing and producing more than 250 bio-docs for the award-winning series E! True Hollywood Story (THS) first as a Story Editor and then as Executive Producer. In the latter role, he also created a highly successful spin-off series called THS: Investigates while supervising a staff of eighty. While running THS, Bill routinely worked with show budgets in the same range as the proposed budgets for this series. Further, THS generated annual ad revenues in excess of $135 million, placing it number 11 among all U.S. television shows (ER was first with $250 million).
Other television credits include Jurassic Fight Club for History Channel (Writer); North Mission Road and LA Forensics for Court TV (Writer/Director/Story Editor); the Jerry Bruckheimer/ABC/Warner Bros. production of Profiles From the Frontline (Story Producer); Unsolved Mysteries for Lifetime Television (Writer); Beyond Chance, also for Lifetime Television (Supervising Producer); Rise & Fall of the Spartans, four-part series for History Channel (Writer); Stalking the Stalker, one-hour special for Fox Network; and the Unexplained on A&E (Writer/Producer/Director).
Bill is a published author (“Tough Target”) and holds a PhD degree. He also has an extensive sports background as a broadcaster with ESPN, and before that as a college hockey player and college & professional coach (Western Michigan University and the Indianapolis Racers, where he coached Wayne Gretzky in his rookie pro season). Bill lives in Playa del Rey, California and hails from Sarnia, Ontario where he was inducted into the city’s Sports Hall of Fame
