Case Study: Meadowvale Scion Horseshoe Valley Ski Weekend

Client: Meadowvale Scion

Event Summary
Meadowvale Scion enlisted Infinity's event management team to help them create a unique contest over Social Media, giving their followers a chance to win a weekend at Horseshoe Resort.  Accommodations were provided to the contest winners and they were escorted to Horseshoe Valley in a Scion for an all-expense-paid weekend of fun!

Objectives

  • Increase Facebook followers for Meadowvale Scion
  • Raise awareness of Horseshoe Valley amenities and activities
  • Raise profile of Meadowvale Scion brand to potential customers in their target market
  • Create a unique event at Horseshoe Valley that provides new and/or repeat business for the resort and Meadowvale Scion

Strategies
Infinity's event management team's strategies revolved around using non-traditional forms of advertising to raise awareness of this contest and the Meadowvale Scion brand.  Street teams were formed to directly reach the target audience by bringing Scion vehicles to the University of Toronto St. George Campus so students could autograph the cars and pose for photos with the cars.  Photos can be retrieved on Facebook, increasing traffic to the dealership's Social Media sites.  Infinity worked directly with the Horseshoe Resort to create an all-access prize for three winners and their guests to forward the objectives of this event.  Prize winners were treated to an all-expense-paid weekend at Horseshoe Resort, including being drive up to the resort in a Scion, a welcome reception hosted by TAG vodka, a Flip camera to capture their fun as well as other branded merchandise.  Winners were able to video-blog and tweet about their experiences and this content was later used to create other promotional videos.

Results
Using content provided by the three winners and their guests, Meadowvale Scion engaged their target audience and followers through Social Media and raised the profile of their brand.  There was a 20% increase in their Social Media followers.  Video footage from this event was also used to create other promotional material.
